Default TRF511 Tall Lipo's

All,

Has anyone used tall lipo's in a 511, say over 25mm tall?

From what I remember the top deck is quite low, do talker lipo's fit?

Not worried about the bulkhead by the way as the Fredeik lipo tray moves batteries out of the way of this!

Dave

Yeah they fit, I have Vampire 60c's in mine and after you trim the bulkhead down a bit they go in nice. I'm using the rude bits lipo tray as well.

Dave said he is using the Lipo tray from Fredrik which moves the cells a bit forward so they clear the bulkhead. So as Balders didn´t write anything that they won´t fit because of the Upper deck it should be no problem with Fredriks Lipo trays at all!

If I remember it correctly you have ~28mm between chassi and upper deck. So 26 or 27 mm lipos might work? Need some space between lipo and upper deck.

I am using 28mm with Fredricks Lipo stays.

They go in and out easily.
I used them on the 501 and 511.

My current cells are @25.5mm...worried about space for the connector as this will sit higher than the cell! Unfortunately won't have time to build the CR the. Get new cells so need to decide what to do!!

As an aside, why are all the ifmar legal cells so bloody tall!!

Dave, the tray also moves the lipo out from topdeck to clear the connector.
