Default How do you free-up the slipper gear box on a BMAX4

After racing on Sunday I have been advised I need to get my Car running free, which will help reduce heat. I was told the problem with my car is with the slipper gearbox free ness, and needing making free to stop the heat build up. As any body had this problem and know how to fix it, or how to adhust the setup to free-up the problem.

Note both diff gear set are free.

Thanks

The only thing in the slipper housing thats an issue is that if the slipper cover / bearing clamp is screwed down too tight it can crush the bearings. (this would cause friction in the bearing and therefore heat)

There is a mod where you can remove material from the plastic cover to prevent this but i havent done it. Just dont overtighten the top 4 screws.

I have taken a bit more off the 4 screws and a am going down to a 20T pinion.

Ps, After your set up tips I made my first A final since getting back into racing, at Southport last weekend. bar the heat the car was 100% I just have to get used to driving a very fast car now.

Thanks Mike

Lee, where exactly are you getting heat build up? And how hot? Too hot to touch? Or slightly warm? My spur gear cover is anything but loose, but I don't have any heat problems... And I have not modified anything. I'm just keeping an eye on the bearings to make sure they don't seize up...

Just curious as so far I have not needed to do any modifications to the slipper bearing holders...
