Matt,

We are planning on running a guest heat for 1/10th buggies, so if you could enter buggy in the 'truck make and model' field on the entry form. I will email people for the guest heat back to confirm they are entered.

Thanks

Another good day of racing trucks, I have to say things where much more polished this time round, squeezing in the 4 rounds of qualifying and 3 leg finals with ease, top job by Paul D, Stef and the EPR Crew!

Track was fun, with some nice features, although pretty tight for SCT in places!!

Looking forward to the next one!

Great Day!

Cheers - here's some on-board video of the B Final 2wd 1st Leg. Good stuff.

The racing itself starts around 2:10, but here's the whole unedited bit - you may see your trucks....

Thanks to all the organisers and it was aweseome!

Cheers,
Ty

Good skills Joe and Matt, thanks!
I was a lot happier than I looked, sorry must been tired after all the track work and a long days racing!

Hoped you all had a good time?
From a club point of view it was certainly different and a good experience and pleased to see some new faces.
Hope you'll return as we run SCT's at many other events both Club Championships, Regional events, Winter Series and the forthcoming TLR Super Cup
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69604

Anyway thanks again for the support both of the drivers and the EPR club members for their help during the week leading up to the event and over the weekend!

It looks as if numbers where a bit lower this weekend.

Its a shame that the dates clashed with some 1/10th BRCA Regional events

There were a good number of SCTs running yesterday at Broxtowe Mid East Regional so some of us didn't miss out on racing the trucks.

The TLR supercup on 26th June clashes with the next NDOR SCT National event, which is a shame too.

The Adur round clashes with one of our regionals which is a real shame again.

Speaking to SCT drivers yesterday, if the dates didn't clash then the series would be supported as anyone with a SCT is keen to race them, something to seriously look out by the organisers when planning next years dates.

Short Course Trucks have been allocated two heats at the Fastrax GP @ Surrey and Hants on the 19th June. Be good to have two heats of trucks going round!. If the formula is to grow these oppertunities (TLR Super Cup, Fastrax GP and National Shootouts) have to be taken and attended.

Personally I think the trucks Rock!

Clashes are bound to occur as the Calendar is jam packed, and this series was late to the table! Where you race is your choice at the end of the day, if another series takes priority so be it!

Numbers where only really down in 4wd, with just 4 trucks racing, 2wd numbers where pretty much the same, just the number of trucks in each race was increased, which is a good thing as people aren't chasing around for volunteer marshals all day and the meeting ran to it's time table.

'Staggered Starts' were used and, we think, worked very well, though ordinarily we have been increasing the interval time between numbers to give everybody, regardless of ability, a little 'breathing' space.

Numbers in 2WD were actually up, 30 yesterday but what we saw, and this is obviously going to happen at every round, is that we had a lot of our own local drivers.
We also had other local drivers that would have raced but, despite our best efforts, were a little intimidated by the perceived level of the competition but they shouldn't have been, there was something there for everybody!

Something to bear in mind for future rounds maybe, try and sell this to ALL levels of drivers as well as continuing to attract serious competition at the upper end!

All in all, a great days racing, less contact than most of us expected (though there were exceptions in some of the finals) with all of us learning, both participating clubs and main organisers, as the series progresses. Oh and a very popular raffle!

Results will be up shortly.

A bit of work to do on the import routine as the first round was run on BBK but all further rounds will be run on Race Timing (Pauls weapon of choice )

Cheers

Chris
