I know it's been done before, and done better, but this is my BJ2 project aka. BJ2O ('O' for Original as this is not based on the BJ4WE but the BJ4 v1) continued from here - http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51542 ):
I'm rather proud considering my lack of skill or equipment in this field. The latest updates were to stiffen the whole chassis up as it was cocking it's leg like an incontinent spaniel every time it rounded a corner. The unique feature will be battery placement - saddles placed next to the motor, oriented crossways. It'll get a try out this Thursday on polished wood vs 4wd cars - a stern test!

I dusted off the unfinished chassis and finally ran it last night at Drop Inn Racing, in Craigavon.
What was immediately apparent (once I properly screwed the bulkhead on ) was some pretty savage initial turn in, combined with continued 'cocking' of the rear wheel around corner. The flex was severe enough that the car twice popped a driveshaft without anything breaking. The only remaining way I can see of stiffening the existing chassis further is attaching carbon fibre panels (made from the chopped top deck) along each side using servo mounts. I suspect I'd need three mounts each side (rear, middle and front), but could use just two. After that it's either 1) get a new chassis cut or 2) get a c4.1!

To stiffen the chassis you could d away with the turnbuckle braces and cutan aluminium one piece top deck, you can then bend it to suit the angle of the chassis and ter motor mount. Doesn't have to be pretty for testing!!

Could do - I am wishing I hadn't chopped the top deck where I did, could have used that, with some long spacers to drop down to the level of the new front end.
