Default How to marshall like a Wally

Marshalling, we all do it. It's something we have to do and try to enjoy.
Personally i try my damn hardest to marshall quickly and be alert at all times.

However Last night at Faversham i was marshalling the A finals.
Nothing to bad about that, the funny thing is i was stood there saying to my good lady how you need to be on the ball and marshall well at race meetings (in that kind of cocky "i know what i'm doing" kinda way) when Neil Gavin turned his car on a rope in front of me. So off i dive like a mad man, grab the car and flip it over..................
So much so that it flips right back on to its roof! Bugger! in my dopey attempt to rectify my mistake i fell over onto my knees!. I reached out accross the racing line for the car again, only to get in the way of ED Kerry and someones Pred X11 (i think it was young lewis,) causing a pile up. With the latter thwacking my hand with a painfull thud.

Sorry chaps!!!!

It must have looked bloody funny from the outside, but my hand is a tad sore today. D'OH! D'OH! D'OH

I remember racing touring cars and a marshall was on the straight , i hit his foot flat out and he landed on his shoulders, it was hilarious for every one but him, my car didnt even move off line

I remember at york once someone has marshalled a car at the far side of these jumps with a can of coke in his hand. And as he waited to cross back over the track someone launched into his can of coke. Coke everywhere.....

My worst marshalling attempt was at the neoinvitational 2006 - my first time racing a nitro and I was marshaling the super dangerous area in the middle of the track. After getting almost hit in the side of the head and killed (I blocked it with my arm) I went to marshall a car and put my finger over the flywheel by accident (i dint know it was there, honest!) and the car cut.. Feeling like a bit of a nobber I attempted to jump over the barrier to give it to the pit man who was screaming at me - I got caught up and found myself laying full body flat on my face right across the main straight with cars at the other end bearing down on me. AWESOME.
Quite how I survived I'll never know.

May as well close the thread now dude - nothings gonna touch that, unless maybe someone has slipped on a car which has then entered their anus or something.

I thought this thread was gonna be about G's rabbit.

i saw that one......... also saw you nearly pee ya pants as you were laughing so much like the rest of us were. have had a few mare marshal moments myself but have never seen a marshal get himself into such a predicament as skelding did in the finals at oswestry after heroing it out to marshall a striken car on the down slope of the table top in front of the rostrum he stood up and then had to duck and dive to avoid the 7 or 8 other cars that were all in mid air following it. looked like summing out of a micheal jackson video with all the ducking and diving he was doing. rest of us lot who were queing for the next final were killing ourselfs, and adam came off very pale and wide eyed

the best i've ever done was running across the straight at Teesside, and there was a car at the start of the straight. I misjudged it abit, and put my foot infront of the car, and it smashed into my foot. The chassis was a bit broked after that

Sorry Kash
