Ive been a believer that meetings are too cheap - we all turn up with atleast £500 worth of gear and moan if we have to spend more than a fiver on racing.
Stu - can we just book in via email rather than faffing about and printing forms then scanning them blah blah blah.... Time to do a bit of 2wd for the first time in at least 10yrs! Going with an RB5 as the D2 is not on the horizon yet... |

I really do fancy this and I want to support your club as well as my own.
If I book in and can't make it is this a big problem? If so, then I'd rather just roll up on the day if things are looking good for me. Russ.

I'm new to the sport and have e-mailed Roger who has been helpful in giving me information. I am going to try and get a cheap RTR kit, maybe a B4 to start off with and gradually upgrade when I've got some money. Would I be ok starting off with the stock car and everything at first?

A b4 RTR would be fine to start with
There are of course lots of "nice to have's" but in reality probably the only "need" would be tyres as the kit ones are unlikely to work at all well on our surfaces.

Stu,
what plans have you for the surface? I'm trying to gauge tyreige (I don't think thats a proper word), will any old mini-spikes be OK or will there be carpet to warrant reasonable mini-pins?

Yes there will be some carpet but its quiet stiff so I dont know what its going to be like. We got it free so I am not conplaining.

Thanks. SO you reckon I would be Ok with something like that to start? If i got something cheap like that or something second hand would it be easy to upgrade to a decent level?

The B4 is a very popular car which really doesn't need much upgrading even from standard. Most changes people make are for personal preference or fashion, rather than performance. (You will also find lots of spares trackside which is handy for beginners)
Buying a new kit is often more economical in the long run, as you are guaranteed nothing needs replacing. You could save the money by buying second hand electricals, batteries etc.

I may have a car by the 2nd now. If I do I will definatly be racing, I am not sure whether I will have a charger by then though which does worry me abit.

What cells are you running? Will have one with me if you need access to a charger. On Lipo so unlikely to need a charger on the day.

I've got 3 chargers also so if you need to borrow one on the day then be my guest.
