Yep, no saver. I stripped a servo gear on Sunday, all fixed now, but something's gotta give when you run em solid.

I thought the soft as cheese turnbuckles solved the servo saver issue

its only the front top link turnbuckles that are a issue the others are fine,i think its because of the ofset ballcup,

I find having no servo saver odd... Guess I got to get one hell of a servo for this car.

I'm using a savox 1258. Robust and good value.

I think virtually everyone that I know with B4/X6 glues the servo saver together, so it may as well not be there.

I wound up getting a Futaba S9551. Thank you for the suggestions, I'll have to try them out in the future.

A FEW ISSUES :(
Hi Everyone
Im all the way in Australia, and have just driven my Cougar for the first time and have had some very annoying issues. Firstly, the drive pin that one of the transfer gears is mounted on continually snapped. I replaced it 3 times and it snapped under brakes each time. I drive on high grip carpet. Im going to have to try spring steel for a pin substitute or get one made out of billet steel. Secondly, one of my driveshafts fell apart. So i USED A PAIR OF B44 SHAFTS which is not a good thing, i'd rather keep my Schumacher all Schumacher, not a Chinese Associated bitsa Thirdly, The camber on the front end can't be adjusted to more than 0 degrees. I wanted to go to 2 degrees negative and the ballcups were fuly screwed in at 0 degrees. So again, i had to use ASSOCIATED links from the b44 which were shorter to allow for more negative camber Fourth problem, the instructions should mention to Threadlock the grub screw for the BALL diff. Mine came loose and melted the diff gear where the balls go in a split second. The manual shoild also state that the side with the grub screw should be on the spur gear side to avoid having the diff come lose. Finally, notchiness in the gearbox at a certain point is also present, which was mentioned by others in the other threads. I'll have to contact Schumacher, but being all the way in Australia is going to be a pain for replacement parts. But overall., i love the car and it handles supreme. And i love how it isn't built in China but rather nicely built in the U.K. About times something isnt chinese. Thats why I gave up on the B4. |

but dont most cars have the adjustment screw on the right when looking from the rear, regardless of position of spur?

doesn't matter which side it goes on thats what the grub screw is for to stop it undoing,

Are you SURE of what you're stating here?

Well, I hope im right, i was under the impression that Schumacher came back to build in the U.K. But if i'm wrong, that explains all the ridiculous quality issues ive been having with this expensive kit.
Now the coating on the inside of the shocks is flacking away. I cleaned them before assembly to the point where you could eat off them. I've done a couple of test runs, and after all the runs, i've checked the shocks only to find metallic particles floating in the silicone oil. You can even see where the coating is coming off inside. If i knew the quality was this crap, I may not have bought this car. |

If you havent already glued the pins that are held by the o rings then i would do it now as they will fall out its only a matter of time

Hi Bigred, please I mean no disrespect but I can and I'm sure most on here are fully capable of stretching an o-ring over a lip into a groove.
Granted the diff may be a skill we will all aquire but I'm pretty sure its not my (or other owners) fault that the gears are notchy and seem to be slowly eating themselves, driveshafts falling apart, orings that don't hold a pin in and gearbox halves that don't fit together. I will though reluctantly accept that it is my fault that my steering linkage fell apart through lack of threadlock. |

This is what mine looked like after a couple of runs, the rubber oring is all but worn through, and I think the black dust over the gears is from the rubber.
The metal gears have odd marks on the teeth aswell as if they are not meshing cleanly. I've just ordered some orings and I'll give it a go at the weekend(after this time glueing the pins in). |
