best 1/8th chassis?
been looking at second hand nitro cars in view to turning one into a brushless.
i see plenty of hyper 7's cheap on the bay and a few xray's . also the ve8 looks like a bargin atm. jnot really had any experiance to 1/8th (i have a pred x10 with a 4.5 brushless in it and also a 1/5th hormann) are mugen that much better than all the others? (seem to find alot of threads on the web saying they are probably the best cars out there) cheers

VE8 is a bargain, although you do need to buy the optional alloy front & rear skid plates so add these to the initial purchase price. The one piece motor mount nis another good upgrade as it gives a little more room for the battery, but this is not essential. Battery choice for the VE8 is also a little limited. Having said that I have ran a VE8 over the summer, out of the box the car handles, jumps & turns great.
Xray have just released there 808 brushless & Mugen have just released pre production photo's of there MBX6. There are lots of new Nitro cars being released over the next few months, with people changing brands so there maybe some bargains to be had ready for a brushless conversion.

Ryan, 12 months ago I would have agreed with you, after running 1/8th brushless through the summer I don't

those are all well designed cars and you can make winners of them all. However, losi's parts wear quicker break more often than Mugen and Kyosho. And Kyosho is just so damn expensive. Thats why I run Mugen. If money was no option I'd still go with X-ray over Kyosho cuz the parts are a bit more bulletproof.

Strange you say that as the Mugen is much more expensive than the Xray here in the UK.

those can handle well, BUT are all 3 are not known for quality parts. X-ray, Mugen or Kyosho are the best for quality. Yes I am keeping my eyes out on that durango E buggy that is in CAD drawings now. LOOKS SWEET!
