If it is an FS you will find that the driveshaft dogbones are a little too short for comfort.
To get the full FS2 geometry you would need UM522 shafts (both dogbone and axle) & UM519-2 rear hubs (last is only to get the 1/2 hole spacing further out on outboard camber link. If you want FS2-sp geometry then you will be after UM510 shafts (could just go for the dog bones if your axles are ok) and the UM519 hubs. Obviously if your using the ali rear hubs you don't need the UM519-2 parts. Hope that helps. Last edited by RogerM; 20-12-2011 at 12:55 PM. If you look at the change in shock inclination of the rear shocks as you move the wheel through the normal working range (put the car at full weight on the desk and roll it side-side to see) you will see a significant change as it gets into the the latter part of roll. This increasing inclination is effectively changing the damping / springing relationship toward less-damped, which can enourage the car to roll even more. This is why when it gets slippery you move the shock tops in as I am sure you know. With the LAW43 fitted this change in damper inclination during roll is less so the car "sits" on it's rear damping more, limiting the roll and the resultant weight transfer across the chassis which in turns allows you to carry more speed through the turn and should allow you to get on the gas earlier too. There is a slight increase in the amount of shock inclination change near full droop but in the direction that will make the car absorb big landings better (although this is slight) so actually it is a win-win mod. Not saying it's a must have, the stock FS2 / FS2-sp is a super nice chassis to start with ... consider this the cherry on the top of an already lovely cake |

So, to simplify what you are saying, the new lower mounting position of the shock is more inclined. Thus being more progressive.
You mentioned the frnt arms are more beefy? Allot or little? Thx

A little more material on the front arms around the hinge pin area from what I can tell.
As for shock inclination no, not more inclined as that would give the opposite effect to what we are looking for. Re-read my post, the main point is that it controls the change of inclination more through the active part of the travel preventing the softening of the damping and thus allowing the car to sit on it's damping more in roll. I've not run it in anger yet but I am thinking that we will be looking at shortening & lowering the rear link to get the very best out of the changes on astro / grass / carpet |

Hi Roger,
I have a lazer FS - could you clarify what parts it is I need to fit the new wishbone kit. As far as i can tell I have the UM510 shafts which are standard kit ones (I think?) however I am running 1 degree Hot bodies rear hubs - do you think I need to get standard hubs as you mentioned in your post? Sorry but I'm fairly new to the racing lark and still finding my feet - its some learning curve eh! Cheers, Craig |

I am still in the process of building up my FS2-sp with LAW43 so not 100% certain what would be needed to get them on the FS but remember these wishbones are the same "mid" length as those on the FS2 (LA272) & RB5-SP/P2 (UM521/UM521-1) & LA243 from the original rear-mid conversion compared to the shortest of all Kyosho rear wishbones LA255 / UM503 from the original FS & original RB5.
You use your existing UM510 shafts but the blue spacer that goes between the outer hub bearing and the drive hex on your car would go on between the axle joint and the inner hub bearing when using the LAW43 parts. Everything else you need is in the LAW43 pack, just follow the descructions to the letter. I will post up a picture when I have mine fully built mate! You will need the 62.5 dogbones with the 3 ring axle (UM510) |

How much lower are the new holes and do the verticaly line up with theold holes? Thinking other shock ends might be needed? Thx

I don't have the car infront of me at the moment but you get the longer balljoints in the kit.
I ran the car at stotfold in the wet on sunday and found the rear much more predictable with them on, especially on exit of the turn. I also ran them indoors at silverstone last night and the car felt ace! Kev |

forgot to answer this.. yes, they do. You can take the alloy 'drop down' off and use the wishbone as standard also.

They go straight on mate, just a medium length wishbone with some machining to mount the drop plates.
I personally have found them to make a very worthwhile improvement. |
