I've done it. It wasn't easy to do, especially the bevel gear.
Still need to do the front one.

man, do I love this mod

filled the rear with the 2000 oil that it came with, but in front I was thinking of 7000. Should this be ok?

For the amount of money its going to cost...
why not just buy a full 410R you could sell the rest of the car in spares.

Can anyone help me with the dimensions for modding the bevel gear and the driveshaft.

I'd love to do this mod, too!

I can make the whole kit for doing this conversion if anyone is interested, have enough bits left over to make a few more after converting lots for my local club members..
Have been punishing mine with a 5.5t for a long time and haven't had a single ring gear or pinion failure yet.

Right,just something to say;

I've just road tested these awesome diffs, and what can i say? THEY ARE BRILLIANT! no metal diff noice, very very smooth on power and it accelerates perfectly.

No more diff stripping

Thanks.

I did the same thing as this with Thunder Tiger parts a couple of years ago, same overall effect just much much cheaper

Well in that case would you be kind enough to share your recipe ? for the people who want to do the mod?

Thanks .

Yeah interesting how the B44 is quieter than a Durango with the same gears. Quieter and smoother than plastic gears it seems.

I looked at using the thunder tiger sparrowhawk diffs but it looked like it was more work?
Still have the problem of metric bearings, B44 dog bone ends didn't fit into the Thunder Tiger drive cups. Then with the pinion already made to fit onto a 5mm shaft putting it on an undersized 4.76mm B44 pinion shaft wouldn't work so it seemed like there was more custom machining to do there than with the 410 pinion.
The diff centre also only has 2 spider gears in it vs DEX410 with 4 gears so it might not hold as much power.
