Managed another 3 over the weekend.

Yokomo for me - not entirely happy with it - rushed a bit and as it was liquid mask - not really my bag - should have used vinyl !!

Long 210 for Gilly in his GB style

K1 for Jimmy

The Yoke still looks good, even if you aren't happy with it.

Would be interesting to see if you did it again all in vinyl how it would come out and if you could do it all with vinyl ( personally I reckon it would work ).

All nice work though Andy, super crisp, good stuff chap !

Hi Ian.

Yokomo looks much better now it's cut out and on the car - and stickered up
Quite happy with it now all things considered - looks much better with the windows where I have put them compared to the abomination that is the stock position !

Also - shillyshells website is now updated a touch as i'm painting again

eyeayen,

he keeps all his cars, and frequently uses a different car in each round and final.

It's like Arthur Daley's car lot on Andy's pit table.

Cheeky Bugger Mr Grason !!

Ian - Not quite given up with the Xray - i'll see how the Bmax goes, i've got the Xray as a backup if it all goes horribly wrong.

Hey Andy, you know they can change your user name...

In all seriousness I would be genuinely interested to see how you get on with that Yoke, when I did Touring Cars way back in 2000 or somewhere there... I was really impressed with mine, good to see MB stocking them again. I've only ever heard good things about them too. Keep us all posted

Guys.

I'll be at Chadderton tomorrow if anyone want to drop a shell off with me for painting.
I've had lots and lots of enquiries over Xmas / Jan but replied to them letting people know I wasn't painting due to the weather.

Well - now I'm indoors with a new set of paints I'm able to paint again - so please spread the word Can get shells back to people pretty quick too at the moment

Cheers
Andy

Loving the way you work, at least your customers know what they are getting.. Maybe give you the nod next time.

I am looking at having a bash, how do you create the mask on the computer? Is it a photo layered in PS?

Hi Chris

Cheers for the kind comments

The stuff I send to the cutter is from illustrator. It has to be vector based artwork for it to be able to process / cut the design.

Also - setting up a design to look good is not the same as setting up artwork to send to cut - it needs to be altered to ensure there are no duplicate or overlapping lines.

go on then Shilly, talk us through your racing yesterday.

Other guys will tell you how they maybe changed some oil, or a spring rate from round to round. Did you use all 5 cars that I counted out of your boot at 7.30am??

I know you used you XB4, BMAX4 and 410 in 4WD (you could do with another two 4WDs mate, tbh).

Did you just use your 210 in 2wd ? Such self control !!

Lol Andy

It's only toy car racing - and I like toy cars

That said my times with the Bmax and Xray were identical !
Of the 3 - 4wd's the 410 I ran in the final was my favourite.

You may 'rib' me for having lots of cars - but with the amount of Tresery bling on yours I reckon I've still spent less than you

Painted 2 shells today - here's one that's for sale.

It's a brand new Schumacher SV2 shell - painted in red, iridescent red, fluorescent red, black, silver and white. All backed with black and then plasticote.

It's in the for sale section too.

Default Schui - Trio for Ben Kaberry

A Schumacher K1 shell and two SV2 shells standard and bulldog for Ben Kaberry.

Masked with liquid mask and main design cut by hand - windows and roof details added using vinyl masks. Well pleased with these - took me bloody ages, but hey!
