A Few Questions??
Hi, I'm possibly looking to run a Durango DESC410V2 and my questions to you good oOPle folks are:
Hobbywing 4700kv motor and 120amp speedo - too much or just right? Where can you buy module 1 pinions from in the UK? What pinion range would you use on the above combo and module 1 pinion type? All answers greatly received!! Damo

Thanks for the responses guys, I couldn't see the smaller pinions on the TD website but I will look again.
Pinions from HPi seem to be around £9? What have you broken on the desc410? I'm really looking to run the truck at the Oople Invernational.

Are the chap I was talking to at RHR this weekend?
If so electric combo is great but I have to say the 4700 motors are just mad! 4000 would be fine. I also think Answer do pinions? |

Yes mate! I mentioned the 4700 to my mate who has run electric 8th and he just gave me one of those looks like wtf!
Anyway, what rate do you turn the speedo down to so you don't get uncontrollable power delivery?

I run all the speedo's with 0 timing. Don't forget that the 8th cars run 4 cells so half the KV. So a 4700 is like a 2350kv in an 8th car.
I have just purchased another Tekin Pro4 but a 3300kv. I will try it this weekend and see what its like. |

I had a cheap Fusion 6.5T motor for a buggy when returning to hobby, it was rated at 7600 kV or something daft, back to back with an LRP X12 6.5T which was 5500 ish kV the LRP was miles quicker top end plus smoother and pulled out of corners a lot better. The Pro 4 is also a 540 size can so the advantage with these is around 50g weight saving on a 550 size motor. I used an LRP 4.5T X12L 550 in my 4WD SCT and it was just mental, compared to buggies they just feel like Group B rally cars! wouldn't go that far again with one! Danny's Durango is very quick with his set up so would listen to his advise on motor choice, it gets to the point that too much power on our high bite tracks just means chewing through tyres faster, higher temperatures to cope with and a harder to tame beast.

http://www.funshobby.com/index.php/p...IPPING%29.html http://www.funshobby.com/index.php/p...IPPING%29.html Both of these are great they are very quick on delivery aswell http://www.giantshark.co.uk/ezrun-br...-p-406416.html This is also very good and this is what i started out with and has now been handed down to my step son Jamie who is also very quick at the nationals but you will need to raise the center diff by 1mm because of the can size and you need a BIG pinion 19 or 20t So go get yourself a rango and we will see you at the next National if you need any help get in touch |

So Checa, this is the Combo I was looking at:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2308013789...84.m1423.l2649 But I notice it is sensorless whilst the one at Fun Hobbies is sensored, I guess you just get more feel for the £20 extra? Potentially my first meeting would be the oOple Invernational and I am pretty tied up for the rest of this year with: 1/10th Buggy Nationals NE Regionals Oople Series BUT, I might look at running the Short Course Nationals next year. What tyres are you running on astro tracks? I know we have to use Proline Holeshots at RHRDirt but just wondered what range of tyres you need to keep in the box? I have done the 1/10th Nationals for about 10 years now and to be honest I am looking for a change of scene!
