I'm just wondering if anybody has seen Losi comment about raising the rear chassis under the gearbox?
I know raising the gearbox by 1mm was used as a tuning aid but comparing my old 22 chassis to the 2.0 the rear step is different it certainly looks to be raised up more than the previous 22 chassis. I have seen Frank Root comment in response to a question that raising the gearbox by 1mm is not needed on the 2.0 but nothing about a chassis change at the rear? |

What does raising the transmission do?
And Paul, can I ask what pistons, spring and oil you are running in the 22 2.0? Thanks

Hi Cremegg,
raising the transmission improves side bite and traction on corner exit. See here http://losiracing.blogspot.co.uk/201...2-and-22t.html I've not got my shocks built yet and the few set ups I've seen are split between 2 hole 1.6 and 4 hole #55. The only mid motor set up posted so far is Dustin Evans ROAR Nationals 3rd place with 4 hole #55's but this is for a sugared in super high grip dirt track - the same one for the worlds - not sure how that transfers to astro or grass? The strange thing was despite the high grip Dakotah Phend won from 3 with the only rear motor car in the A final! So big win No.1 for the 22 2.0 first time out, but it looks like Losi is testing for a standard steering set up as Dakotah was running what seems to be modified RB6 steering bellcranks. |

Thanks for that link Paul, explains it very well
I ran 55 40 holes pistons, 25 wt in rear and 30 wt in front and bury yesterday and the car went round very well. This is the setup I had in my old 22 I was asking about the shock setup because there are no setup sheets for astro as of yet...I'm sure there will be soon

Oh and just a heads up I had a quick look at Martin's blog (Razer) might be worth addressing questions about shocks to Martin as he runs on grippy bumpy astro plus he has been running 2 hole 1.6mm pistons for a while now. Hi Razer |

I'm off to the worlds soon though, so there won't be any astro testing until maybe a sunny october day, unless the snow has fallen already. I'll try to keep my blog more updated again in the following months:-)

Frank's response on the 2.0 chassis (from RCTECH) So I guess its just a clearance issue.
