Tried my yokomo at Ayrs race on sunday and had major grip problems, anybody suggest tyre type for mixed carpet/gym floor ?
And the gym floor parts were pretty slippy...

Hey buddy,
I raced on a similar surface yesterday, I used mini pins rear and cut staggers front (all I had to hand) Noticed people were using mini spikes rather than pins though, So going to give them a go next time, |

I would use worn yellow mini spikes, bit more bite on the slippy stuff and a bit looser on the carpet, but a good all rounder. Some do however, like the pins as mentioned above, but would use pins all round, not just on the rear.

Hi
No problem with the question just people who have not been to track not best placed to answer. If I wanted to know what to run at a new track I'd ask the local fast drivers who drive there regularly. Most people are happy to help. What was the guy that won using? Rob

Found out that some drivers were giving 'slicks' or really well worn mini-spikes a go. the areas where theres loads of tape marking out tennis/badminton courts were worst. Braking was....interesting!
Still looking forward to the next leg though.
