tyres
Do it the easy way mate.
In the oven. Preheat 200 degrees place tyres on tray leave for 5 mins turn over and do the same 5mins. Get the oven gloves and push the wheel out. Saves the inserts aswell. So much quicker than acetone.

Davey, I just use a large sandwich box/ food storer from the local supermarket. The ones with the clip on lid. You can get up to 8 tyres in.

The best type of container would be made from polypropylene, this won't crack or melt over time.

I buy my acetone from polyfibre in bham and they sell 10 litres paint type buckets for £1.49 with a sealed lid - I can get around 10/12 rears in fully if I squeeze the inserts to expel the air first.

I just stick them in a tupperware type lunchbox for 24 hours, take the rubber off then stick them back in for 5-6 hours and all the old glue has run off and you are ready to go.

25 Litre fermentation bucket with lid from Wilko's!
Can do masses of tyres in one hit - I just put a wire shelf in mine so that the tyres don't sit in the acetone - just the fumes - and it works a treat.

Clip top glass jar.
Nice and sealed easy to store and no change of knocking lid off. No fumes escape either.

As above with the jar. I found one in the utlilty room and used that. Turned out to be the wifes "Jamie Oliver" jar! got a right bollocking!
What ever you do, don't spill it in the new washing machine. Acetone eats the white plastic! Don't know if shes seen that yet! |

Anything air tight will be fine, the fumes that comes off the acetone will help to remove the glue as well. When I use to acetone my tires I only used a small amount in the bottom on the tub then left it for a week, that's how stonge the fumes are.
