I've charged my car with speedo plugged in before, no problems.
Actually, I've even changed settings with the program card while charging because time is so tight at club

Of course you should be using a lipo sack...

Hey Will!

Theoretically, absolutely yes, no problems

However, just watch that whatever leads/connectors you use can handle the current that your ESC might be drawing from the batts.
THose steel plastic coated plugs you linked to look a little weedy. You can get some excellent gold plated stackable adaptors from online retailers and eBay.

Hope it helps

Default LIPO SACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, Have you not seen the lipo go up? have a you tube look at them, I have seen them go up live, if you really do charge without a lipo sack, your mad, totally mad.
they are not like nicads etc if they pop.

for the few seconds it takes to remove a lipo, its totally worth it, if it goes up IN your car, thats by by chassis, esc, motor etc etc.....

Would they even fit under your shell?
It really doesn't take that long to take the cells out of the car does it?

For the sake of 20 seconds it's really not worth charging your lipos in the car. If they were to go up it would destroy your car!

I would really strongly advise you NOT to do this, apart from what is said above, those connectors are not designed for the high current or the vibration you will have in a car. This will result in increased resistance, heat and damage eventually.

Isn't the LiPo sack rule a general BRCA rule thus having to be stuck to by all clubs covered by the BRCA 3rd party insurance?

definatly, but he does not say its at a club etc, could just be bashing?

But either way, without a lipo sack is just to damn dangerous IMHO..
