Default jorn neumann

Although it is never mentioned in any of Jorn's set ups on the Durango web site I can see from pictures that nearly all events, mid motor or rear! he is running a longer chassis.

Is this chassis available anywhere or is this a special just for him?

Ok cheers!

Wonder why plastic version only?

I have had the car only 3 weeks but so far it sucks

It constantly lifts the inside wheel when cornering.
I have tried nearly every suspension adjustment I can to no avail.

I now figger I need to put some weight at the front to stop the rear loading up so much. (Will try this next week)

I assume a longer chassis would also alter the weight distribution

silverstone buggy club high grip astro

best set up so far is....
http://www.team-durango.com/pdf/setu...14_01_2012.pdf

I drilled the stock blank pistons to match jorn's but was far too over damped I reckon he must have taper pistons!!!

So I now use 1.2 - 6 hole rear 1.3 6 hole front but with same oil.
I have tried alsorts of other combernations but this is best so far (But still sucks)

I need to get hold of Mr gunnell for some pistons next!

I have no extra weights on the car....

The back end seems to collapse and lean over, lifting the front wheel

Dave Poulter seemed to be having his own issues with the Durango this week at silverstone!

Why not ask one of the quick durango guys at silverstone for a little help next week?
Is it a problem the car lifting a wheel? Because you will have to go really stiff on the rear suspension to stop the car rolling a lot on such a high grip surface. Perhaps you could make a rear anti roll bar to help?

Remove the screws which attach the shocks to the wishbones and make sure that all of the suspension works without any binding at all from full droop to maximum upward travel. The suspension should also move under its own weight. After that check that the shock are working nice and smooth. I notice the other day that one shock on the car was experiencing what they call "sticktion" where the o-rings were holding the shock shaft and it meant that it needed more push before it started moving. This upsets the balanace of the car. I run the 4 x 1.2 mm holes in the front with 35wt Losi oil and red springs and 5 x 1.3mm holes in the rear with 37.5wt losi oil whith black springs and find the car goes very well. I also have put on at 78T spur gear so that the motor is as far back as it can go.

Mine works great at silverstone, I run harder in the front than the back. I have only been doing it for a few months and I am mid pack already so I would say its a very good car.

Thats an interesting setup thicker oil in the rear, I might have to try that.

Fastfilli I don't mean to offend but maybe you don't drive like neuman yet, so you don't need his setup. Defo try the David Poulter set up, that works well for me

To me your car looked very stiff and very low and with not a lot of droop. I would avoid the ardent setup, as that was low grip carpet on dboots nanobytes, very different to the astro surface and mini spike combo at silverstone. Not to mention Jorn is a very aggressive driver.

Poulters setup would be a good setup, as would mine. Both of our cars roll around quite a bit, which make the grip roll very predictable and will also get the most out of the tyres as your using the whole tread and not just the centre.

The long chassis would be interesting to try, but tbh, I'm pretty happy with the way my car is going at the moment.

Another thing to bear in mind, you have to be gentle with a 2wd and try to maximise corner speed, you cant just rely on stamping on the throttle harder out of the turn, as all you'll do is wheely !

I didn't see Poulter's set-up on the Durango list of set-ups, and found a link on petit-rc, but it seemed dead on my end. Thanks though onekiwi, I seemed to miss something along the way.

Not sure if any one is intrested but I have managed to make the DEX210 go like I would like it to!

The fix was:

RDRP 65g front bulk head

Hotbodies cyclone rear anti roll bar (Softiest type +copper colour)

The car was flat out awsome!

High grip astro

Rear =
1.2mm 6 hole piston 450cst oil (durango oil)
Black springs 17.5mm ride hight
1mm plastic spacer infront of inside wishbone to take out play
out side wishbone hole
Center shock mount hole.
full droop
HPI cyclone copper anti roll bar
schumacher yellow spike blue med insert
Holding both wheels rev motor adjust sliper so wheels only rise 2 - 3 inch

Front =
1.3mm 4 hole piston 650cst oil (durango oil) melt 2 holes with soldering iron!!!
Light brown spring 17mm ride hight
out side wishbone hole
center shock mount hole
full droop
65g RDRP bulk head
Schumacher stager no insert

Note's = Car drives very safe awesome around corners and big jumps
but over damped for smaller bumps. Will try softer damping next week.

The big differance has been the anti roll bar & weight, from hear I believe most set ups will have a good base to start on high grip tracks.
