Default Bob Dively Liquid Mask

This has been a big improvement for me, thanks guys for the tip!

But today I was struggling with the brush clogging. I even thinned it a lot with Jif (window cleaner), but it didn't help much.

What's your recommended mix? And how much BAR pressure?

Cheers

Only one coat then when brushing? I guess otherwise it'll dissolve on subsequent coats?

Any pic / link to a spray gun like that? Kinda like for "large applications"?

Thx!

Very cheap guns! Which one would you recommend?

I'm using this one clicky

it works great but doesn't like liquid mask left in it for prolonged periods, do your shell/shells then clean it out real good,

as i said i do paint it on my self most of the time, but if i have a lot of shells to do in one go its worth breaking out the spray gun and with that gun 45-50 psi is fine

Thx guys, you're dog's bollocks!

Used a brush now and it worked fine! Very time consuming though

I've ordered that gun and I'll give it a go as well!

Cheers

brush it on, leave it somewhere warm, do the next coat when the blue tinge has gone.... 4 coats usualy seems enough. If you get sidetracked, you can always freshen it up with another coat as it will dry out a little after a week.

I use parma fasmask, i get the 16oz bottles, open it up and top it up with a little water to thin it up , give it a shake, leave it at room temp for a hour or so the wash the body , dry it and then just pour it into the shell , swill it around to cover the body, tip excess into funnel and leave to run off excess for 15-30mins then leave it to dry over night and hey presto corresct thickness luvely jubbley

Bloody hell Jamie, thats a bit time consuming.
Just pour a blob on the shell and paint it round with a brush. Dries in about half an hour. No need to leave it over night.

I have 3 coats on about 20 shell in a day no proplem. By the time you've got round to shell number 20, shell number 1 is dry and its on with the next lot of coats. if it goes on to thick it can cause drips and that makes it difficult to cut as the drips don't dry properly.

Lion-O, How many coats do you spray on with that gun if you have to use it?

3-4 max, seems to go on slightly heavier with the gravity feed gun but drys quicker as its more even,
i have managed with two at a push.

Last year (I've not bought any since) I used to get 3 bottles of the 32oz (the huge bottles) from RCBOYZ and it used to cost me about £50. So thats £16.66 per bottle.

£23 for a pint is bloody steep mate.

Works out at just over £11 per bottle.
The shipping is expensive but like I say, it'll still ony work out at just over £50 for 3 bottles.
So even if JE get it from here, they're making a killing on it!

thats what I was thinking, it is bloody steep, if they want people to buy it, price it reasonably, we keep getting told it is a global market, then get told we got to get shafted to buy local.... As much as I want to support a local market, with using it on a regular basis, I would have to pass on the cost to the people paying me to pimp their shells.
