Cheap brushless system for Egress
Hello,
I've broken the lurker barrier to get some advice. I'm looking for a cheap brushless motor system alternative to a brushed 19 turn spec motor system to go in a Tamiya Egress. What are my options? Something 'budget' please. Doesn't have to be pro gear. Thanks. Elliott. |

If its "budget" your looking for then type in Ezrun in ebay. Very reliable and excellent VFM.

Definately Ezrun - probably one of the blue finned can versions. (9t or 10t are best) like these. I've run them in a range of older cars and they work very nicely.
The beauty is they are 380 sized motors with fins on the cans to bump them up to 540 sized. Normally thats a bad thing, but for vintage cars its a real bonus because it means they don't have the massive torque of full sized brushless systems. And its that torque can shred drivetrains not designed for it. The esc is equally cheap. You can use the 35A but I'd get the 60A as its well worth the tiny extra cost.
