Default running buggies in the wet?

im fairly new to 10th off road and have been wanting to run my new mad rat. im worried that if i go out in the wet/raining the electrics will brake ect. i have some fairly cheap electrics at the minute but will be putting my old touring car brushless esc and a 6.5 brushless motor, so i dont want it to brake!

should i not go out in the wet at all?
or is it ok to go out whatever the weather?

If you're going to run your brushless in the wet make sure the Madrat body is velcroed properly to the chassis so as little water as possible can get in. Make sure you put some blu-tac over and around the hole that the sensor wire goes into on the motor and as long as there is no really bad standing water you should be fine. Just remember that any puddles could cack up your speedo/motor combo and it's NOT waterproof. If you are racing then inevitably it will rain some time and you might have to go race in the crap conditions. If you are not racing then my advice to you is only go out when the conditions are good, that way you won't destroy your expensive kit

Hi, you could waterproof the electronics you have, look at the major rc crawler forums for best advice on how to do it, alternately you could invest in some water proof parts, there are quite a few on the market, mtronics, yeah racing, hobbywing, novak , Lrp, nosram all do waterproofed speedos, the reciever jut needs a balloon or similar wrapped around it with a cable tie and a spot of grease in the neck of the baloon,, although, i have been running an Ansmann mad rat and x-pro kits in very wet weather with yeah racing brushless and spektrum sr3100 reciever with no protection and every time i am finished a run all the electronics have been 'completely dry' apart from the servo, splashproof bluebird 706 lp, (get em on ebay for £5, very fast and dual bb) i put a little grease around the servo output shaft then fit the horn,
get out and drive it and sod the weather,
hope this helps,

I find my B44 pretty water tight without anytime done to it. I ran it in the snow/ice with just the undertray on and only a small touch of ice went between the tray and the chassis. a few hours in the airing cupboard and everything was dry again with no rusty looking screws
