Neon yellow is my favorite as it makes it stand out, but I have tried dying my wheels on my original RC10 with black dye but no heat.

If you let it soak in the dye without heating them up, you can turn a white-dish into a dark purple color...

Wouldn't recommend doing that. Just remember to heat up the dye.

You can youtube this subject, there are a few videos made by a handful of guys out there that shows how to dye, including the dos and don'ts
