Hi, I've just purchased a second hand upgraded FTX Blaze which I plan to race at Aylesbury. The setup included a 9200KV and eZrun speedo. Can somebody recommend a gear ratio setup for a small indoor track?
I want to keep the motor as cool as possible as it seems to be getting hot really quickly and is far too fast. I've been told I should get a 49T spur & 10T pinion, does this sound about right? Also any recommendations on where would have parts in stock? Thanks, Wedders. |

Jesus! 9200kv is insane if it's a small hall. I ran a 6500kv and that was silly in a small hall.
10t/49spur is the smallest ratio the car takes, so yes, you would want that. But seriously, i would look at a slower motor. Try and get a cheap one off ebay or something as you will probably do a lot of damage to the car running that thing!

Thanks for the quick reply...any recommendations of a lower turn motor?
I take it the sensorless motors are rated in KV rather than no. turns, what would be the equivilant No. of turns to KV? Thanks again.. |

i don't know the exact equivalent of the sensorless, but i moved to a 10.5 mongoose and it was similar in pace to my 6500kv, but the acceleration was much calmer and smoother/predictable
something around 5000-6000kv would probably be fine
