Blanace lead question

[RDG 40]

I have just got my balance leads for my UDC-40 charger.

My intellect packs are easy they have the small corally one so easy to attach.

My GM packs though are different. They have the 3 PIN ATTACHMENT FOR BALANCE PART.

My Question is the blanace lead on GM packs are red/white/black but the only way they connect together is the opposite way round as below

RED - BLACK
WHITE - WHITE
BLACK - RED

Now my brain is telling me that aint right as colours dont go to correct colours but the plug doesn't allow any other way.

Is this correct or is no specific positive or negative going through this wire so colours is irrelevant?
