Do those keychain cams really weight 35g? Seems a lot for such a small item...

Really tempted though

That noise is the audio overloading before the auto-levelling kicks in. Not much you can do about it I'm afraid. It also causes the occasional drop outs you hear on very loud levels.

Nope, mine weighs about 16g.

Hope this helps. Happy filming!

You need to remove keychain from cam - it lowers weight considerably. Other thing I did - I sanded bottom so it has nice flat surface to tape on car

That keychain indeed looks good value for money.

The flyOne cam is really crappy, I tried one some time ago. Sound and video is very out of sync. Video quality is poor, and after a while the lipo was dead. Also, the lens angle is too small for any decent footage.

HD hero will give you the best quality, because it has a better lens, and also a very wide angle. This reduces jitter a lot and you can follow along a lot better because you see more of the surroundings. But it's a lot bigger and heavier, so not really good if you want to have a decent run too :-)

I'm so impressed with it, I'm gonna buy another couple and take them to bits.

Hopefully I can get it set up so that just the lens is outside the shell, and make it so I can trigger it using the 3rd channel on the receiver.

My camera worked fine last time I used it about 9 days ago but today turned it on the lights flashes etc but when I tried to view the recording it was dead. I plugged it in to try to recharge it but the laptop does not even recognise its plugged in and the charging light is off.
Its never had any hard use so any ideas how to revive it?
In the last hour i have took it apart and see no loose wire the battery hold a charge of above 4v and gets warm when charging but still no lights and will not work. A bit annoying as this is the second one to fail.
Edit sorted
Im from an age when if the telly did,nt work you thumped it. So in frustaration after trying to get it going I threw it on a tiled floor. Impact threw the sd card out which I was going to keep anyway but out of curiousity before I binned it I pushed the reset button and hell it works again. At least it can take more knocks than it will inside a car.

That would be ace, if you could post up the modifications you did if you find it possible!

it would be good to run it off the 3rd channel esp if it can then also be powered by it.

I finally got the chance to try out my $1 key chain cam. I'm pretty happy with it:

Bought it from "keyhere" on ebay. (same seller raven linked to in post #2)
