yeah you have to remove the old camber mounts all the way back to the diff bearing mounts if that make sense

Great, just fitted the plate. Now, because the plate provides different hole settings to the standard, it's no longer possible to do a direct comparison to the set-up sheets where the drivers are using the standard gear cover position. So, I was wondering what hub/plate positions people are using for different conditions, in particular:
1. Carpet mid traction? 2. Astro wet low traction? 3. Astro dry high traction? In general, am I right in assuming that you use a shorter link to get more lateral grip, e.g. in lower traction situations? looking at other posts and links some seem to suggest this, but then some suggest you get sudden break away's which are more difficult to control. Also looking at AE's RC cheat sheets it suggests short links for medium grip and long for high grip situations, but then goes on to say 'The longer the link, the less camber change, and the more traction. The shorter the link, the more camber change, and the less traction'. Confused - don't we need more traction in low traction situations? Now, adding removing washers under the plate ball. Is this doing exactly the same as shortening/lengthening the link, or is there a subtle difference in the effect because of the change in the link angle? Finally, if I maintain the same length of link but move it in/out on both the hub and plate to keep the same camber setting, is there any difference in the effect? You can tell I'm totally messed up on this one.

From what I have read when you raise the ball stud height you are lowering the roll centre and when lowering the ball stud you end up with a higher roll centre. The camber link plate allows you to do this as I did read somewhere alot of people wanted to lower the ball stud and were taking plastic off of the gearbox to accomodate this but it is a weak area even before you take any plastic off.
