The first meeting will be from 6.30pm on the 8th of August. As I say, it'll probably take a few weeks to get into the swing of things but it's all new so it's only to be expected.

On anther note, I managed to blag an 8'x4' sheet of 3/4 ply today so that'll be chopped up into jump size bits.

If you miss because it's your birthday, you'll have to bring cakes in the week after

Within a few weeks of opening, we'll be having a 1/10th scale buggy as a hire car Thanks to Robin schumacher. This and the 1/14th micro car will be available for hire to anyone who wants to try the sport without having to shell out for a complete set up.

Jumps being made/finished this weekend so it's all systems go for next wednesday 8/8/2012

It's the big night tonight, numbers should be ok judging by the forums with a good mix of Micro and 1/10th.

I'm interested to know how you got on. What sort of numbers did you get and do you have any pictures?

To be honest it was a poor turn out. I've advertised on all the forums I can think of, posters and signs. The fact I've been let down by 2 of the guys who were supposed to be helping and the third one had whooping cough didn't help either.
The guys that did turn up were great and while we didn't have any timing gear thery did have a bash round. I didn't expect 30 people turn up but a few more would have been nice, if I'm honest I've got half a mind not to bother again. It's a shame because it's a cheap venue that with some better planning could be a good track and club.

Sorry to hear that. The problem I have is that Urmston RC is on Weds and they have a summer championship. A few guys were talking about the club as its up the road, so they might pop in from time to time.

It's only the first night. Bury was dead 5 years ago, but now it's busy again thanks to a new lot of members getting behind the club. Hopefully this week will pick up for you.

I've got to be honest, with people saying they'll help out or come down to race and then not bother, it makes me think why should I bother. I'll be making a decision tonight if things will carry on because I won't be funding things on my own.

If anyone wants a load of free carpet let me know.

That's sad to hear, looks like you put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into it. It's a shame to see there isn't sufficient interest on that time and day of the week.
