Default Anti roll bars on an sx3

Hey, after last race meeting I noticed that my sons SX3 had lots of roll in the corners, I was wondering if its worth fitting anti roll bars... has anyone used these with success, what gauge is best to use ? Or are they just a gimmick ?

Cheers

Richie

Try looking on the schumacher site for a good setup for a track similar to ours........check the ride height, could try cut an outside row off ya tires if your getting too much side bite and grip rolling.........check your camber !!!

Sx3 s1 stock shocks and springs 40wt oil in all four shocks... 10.5t motor... Tyres are yellow cat mini spikes which have been trimmed, camber etc setup by Chris pattinson and a few of the other schuey lads... The car is very tail happy but I noticed the car has a lot of roll in the bends

i would try 35 in the rear, if you can buy the rear wide track made alot of difference to mine. Do you have the rear alloy blocks?

The wide rear track mod U4114 uses longer rear driveshafts and spaces out the suspension blocks, it kinda locks in the rear end. The steering mod U4113 is also pretty good and reduces the slop in the steering.
The lack of rear grip could be down to what surface your running on and tyres your using, if its wet astro and your using Schuey yellows then I would expect to have grip issues. Are you running kit springs and shock pistons?
Camber links and positions also have an effect on how your car rolls, you could try and shorten the front and rear links to see if that helps. To see if it helps and if you don't have the option camber links lower the inner ball stud which will have a smaller effect than a shorter link but will point you in the right direction.
Roll bars may help but I always feel that they seem to remove some grip if you only use one at one end of the car. I used to use one sometimes on the rear but I never had issues with rear grip.

The wide rear track includes a few washers, longer screws and longer drive shafts, to be used with the alloy blocks i believe. If you get the alloy stuff it gives a much better setup.

I never ran my sx3 with out the alloy blocks but when i ran my k1 as kit i did not like it, but added the blocks and set it up how i wanted it, it was much much better

2deg camber front and rear
On rear hub put control link in the out side hole
Go to 45 oil front and 35 rear also put ride hight at 20mm also put if you have plastic front caster hubs put 1mm under the ball stud if you have the alloy ones put 2mm under it also run car in long wheel base

Hey Richie

We will be down at Seaham this Sunday, if you like I will ask Greg (as he is home from uni) to have a drive with Nathans car in practice to see what he reckons & we can have a go at improving it a bit?
