22-4 Rear CVA Driveshafts
I've run the 22-4 for a while with the 22 Rear UJ Shafts, 22 Std Width Hex Drives and 22 Rear Hubs.
I'm looking at running CVA Rear Driveshafts. Do the 22-4 CVAs drop straight in with the remaining 22 Rear components that I already use or are the 22 CVA Shafts needed? |

I just figured this out, I was running 22 2.0 hubs, axles and dog bones, with 1.5mm shims between axle and inner bearing. there is just barely enough axle plunge engagement with the diff. I tried 22-4 axles with the 22 dogbones but their the same dimensions except longer threads. I just tried 22 1.0 axles. remove the outer 1.8mm spacer and add 1.0mm between the bearing and axle. Fit perfect. a good 2mm of axle plunge engagement with the diff now.
I had to do this because I popped a dogbone, and it caused a chamfer on the diff slot. I needed more engagement and piece of mind. I'm using 5mm hobbyking aluminum hubs. Could probably goto 6mm as I still have threads on the outside of the wheel nut. I don't have any 22-4 cva dogbones in front of me, But the way it sets up the 22-4 dogbones are shorter, and you need to run the 22 dogbones. Last edited by lomar15; 30-08-2015 at 06:24 AM. |
