Finally got round to trying the firebolt on sunday, very pleased with the it's first run out seeing as i went with totally kit std even down to the oils, the track was super high grip so most of the day i ran my cobra which was quick as you would expect, for the final i swapped to the firebolt just to do a compare, the car is very easy drive and the biggest suprise was how much front end and steering the car has,far better than my previous mid motor car, rear end grip and drive was plenty and it didn't kill tyres like the forward motor, overall the forward motor was quicker over a lap but over the 5 minutes there wasn't alot to choose between them mainly down to the ease of drive of the vbc and probably over trying with the forward motor.
I have now changed to 40wt oil in the front but everything else is kit std, first full meeting this weekend on grass so looking forward to that,i will let you know how things go after the weekend,i should also have sorted and progress on a forward cab bodyshell

Having sanded the from arms, the front upper ball joints and the track rod ends, as well as machined the inside of the front wheels, I've finally got full movement without the wheels catching - but this is without the spacer under the balls stud on the steering arm.
Any recommendations as to front wheels that don't need quite this amount of work? Bri |

AKA wheels fit directly, but I found that the hex was too large and they would not run true. I dremelled down some Avid Satellite to have proper wheels when I used to run the Fbolt. Maybe the Serpent stuff would be an option?

Schumacher and team c all fit straight on. Not sure why you are having these problems? Only time I did was when I mistakenly tried to fit a 4wd front wheel.

Vbc firebolt
Qualified 1st in the C final @ Worksop today And finished 1st in the C
Well happy with the car was running stock setup with front shocks in at The top and carbon chassis otherwise stock setup which is a good place Start. I never got chance to run the rear motor car but should get it ready for next meeting at York. Last edited by jk007; 28-09-2015 at 08:55 PM. |

Both cars had good grip but I found the car with the carbon chassis had less steering than the alloy chassis car.

DM2
Looks like there's a new version coming out. The DM 2
From the one picture I can see is a new gearbox casing to mount what looks like and adjustable new alloy brace mounted onto a new battery strap. I bet the chassis has built in kickup just like the RM..
