Default whats the worst you have done to your rc car

i thought it would be fun to find out the worst crash youve had with your car, nitro/electric or even 2 stroke petrol ones.
Just to start, i think the worst crash (which wasnt my fault at all) was when my savage 25 crashed into a tree full pelt lol, wasnt pretty.
Not my fault, that tree shouldnt have been there lol

When i was young(long time ago now!). I had a tamiya bigwig with the 8.4v battery and a technigold motor, i raced my dads milkfloat(bedford cf) as he drove off and he went straight over it!! What a car, it came out the other side in one piece

I havent really had one relaly bad jump but a few goodones.

First one when i was younger and i had a nitro touring car i used to drive roun my local carpark. This car ark is quiet large so i went flat out acroos the carpark got it into 2nd gear must of been doing about 40 MPH and i hit a drain grid and it took off did a full spin round 360 degrees was about a foot off the ground then landed back on its wheels but and span aorund alot. Nothing broken but then i let my dad have a go and he crashed it into a concrete pillar and whiped the front end off.

While racing its self we moved Oswestry National jump into the middle of our small track and we raced on it and i jumped it and flew straight into the telegraph pole with my b4 i broke wishbone bulkhead lost m hingpin brace and broke a shock tower.

Then only a few weeks ago i snapped my xx4 chassis on the jump at coventry i also snapped a rear shock tower to at the same time.

I've been quite lucky i've had a few big incidents with never getting too much actual damage.

A few times I should have destroyed cars, I tore a wheel off my Traxxas TRX-1 once hitting a fence flatout with a 12x2. The car went one way the wheel went the other.

I had a Procat and the crystal went of all things. At the time I was racing in Rochdale in the Methodist Mission, on the top floor. My Procat flew out the door and somehow made it down 2 flights of stairs unbroke (except crystal).

Default VKD

Snetterton IC On Road National a few years back ! All slightly pissed ! Running a Swift 1/8th rallycross around the off road bit at the back ! We ran out of nitro so we filled the tank up with VKD while it was still running ! It did about 3 yards

Needles to say engine was toast !

worst i've had must be oversteering on a corner years ago with my old saloon car and writing off the rear end haha another time the crystal went of all things on my savage .46! luckily it was on a big field so it went to the other side happly as 3 mates chased it to stop it haha took about 5 minutes to catch up to it when it found deep grass on a steep hill

i heard of a certain someone that geared the hell out of there of road car,
threw it out the back of a coach on the motorway, it kept up for 3-4 mins then died off.
they drove it till it dumped then left it to be killed buy oncoming traffic,
what a waste !

I once was driving sharing a bodyshell with a friend of mine because mine wasnt ready in time. When it came to the finals we both qualifed in the A so I had to borrow a bodyshell of somebody else.

After about 1/2 a lap I started to get a sinking feeling that my inputs where having little effect on the actual car... Suddenly realised my car was sitting mating the wall at the bottom of the start straight.

One that sticks out in my mind. I was out in germany racing TC at the LRP masters, phil booth offered me a new A team chassis with cells slightly further forward etc for the mission, i built it all up and 29 heats later it was my heat again, one of my fellow team mates put the car down for me, only to be wiped out by an oncoming car, yup chassis broke

Another one was when the pred on road car was out (it was crap) and we were at wrexham, one car had spun on the straight, another swerved to miss it at full chat, he hit a kerb which made the car fly perfectly towards the fence, the car went through the wire fence taking all 4 wishbones off the car and the body looked as if it had been attacked with cheese wire

At an outdoor regional at Bury, I remember getting it wrong at the end of the straight where the ramp is, flat out with a 4.5 brushless in, and flying off the track, hitting the building (which has now burned down), and breaking my brand new Lazer ZX-5 clean in two, through both lower and upper decks. I also done wishbones, lost the outdrives from the one way and cracked the alloy shock tower brace.
I've never had the confidence at the end of that straight since that crash.

When I was about 14 I borrowed my friends Cougar 2 and we were racing it around on the street... You know this can only end up in tears...

It got run over by a Blue Mk3 Escort 1.3L ... And they didn't stop! (I will find you one day, you can't hide for ever!)

I can still hear the crunch to this day and the scream of my friend.. Luckily the car had an ali chassis so the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been, all the electrics survived but the plastic bits took a hammering..

Happy days!

i had just finished building my kyosho mp7 8th car so i took it for it's first run down the street (oh dear big mistake)

outside of my father-in-lews shop in north shields i blipped the throttle a few times until the tranny cells went flat.

without a fail safe fitted the car took off down the road making a bee line for the coop window
thankfully a rover 216 sitting at the junction stopped it in it's tracks

damage included chassis front shocks an os 21 engine and pipe front shock tower most of the plastic parts three drive shafts one center drive shaft and worst of all my pride

total repair cost £290 trade price

At 3A i was coming down the straight with my B4 and the rear wheels span up and it slid into the nitro buggy bit writing off all the wishbones, shock towers, driveshafts, shock shafts and more

I think my biggest non-accident was this;

Racing in close with 2-3 other cars comming to the end of the straight the guy infront of me braked slightly early compared to my braking point so about 2-3m before a brick wall my car gets launched off his back wheels sailing through the air.

It hit the wall with both shock towers at the same time and bounced off completely unharmed. On further inspection in the pits afterwards I had flattened a bit of the CF at the top of each shock but no further damage.

My only major trashage was many moons ago with my Hornet, and in a split second where my view was obscured by my cousin, I went flat out in to a washing line pole, which promptly snapped the front of the tub clean off

This all sounds class

Mine:

With my nitro truck: once when TRCC still had the permenant off raod out door track it took off on the straight and just kept going, lost my exhaust deflector. Went at and angle into a curb and snapped the huge, solid plastic bulkhead in 3 places clean through. Jumping it off my BMX ramp in the garden, it nose dived and rolled and stopped a few inches from our 4 foot deep pond.

With my nitro TC: second day i had it, took it to a local retail park on a night to run it in, on last tank, opened it up along the carpark, Rx batteries failed and it just went flat out, full tilt square into a curb, wasnt pretty, chassis looked like a banana.

With my B4: to many to list lol
Went bashing 2 weeks ago, one crash broke a rear wishbone, next one snapped a rear chassis plate, gearbox housing and front shock tower. Had an awesome crash at the TRCC long jump, wiped out a rear shocktower but the car bounced rather spectacualarly down the straight afterwards . Gone over a small jump at TRCC a few times as someone tried to beat my car accross it marshalling, they didnt beat it lol. And then there was the time i smashed the mamba max motor but im not allowed to delve into that one

Thats all i can remember, tis early for me
