Xb4 drivetrain
Hello! Old in the game but new to driving 4wd. I have got those alu 35t diff gears in my brand new XB4. It sounds like someone are being murdered. It tears my soul apart when I drive my car. Learned today that it is supposed to sound like that with those alu gears against steel. Is there anyway to make it more quiet? Can it be shimed? The pitch of those teeth are gigantic.
I like light weight cars and I like how it runs but I cant stand a car that sounds like it does. Had a hard time just listening to a standard xb4 but I can live with that noise. I really do like the car so I want to keep it. Everything is ok in the car so it is not anything wrong with the drive train. |

I think your missing the point of racing if your more concerned about how it sounds than how it goes lol

Ha ha, perhaps
Trying not to think about it but it is all in the head. Going to try to shim it tighter to bed it in and switch to s better quality lube. Got a small jar from a friend with something really special. Hope it does the trick. |

I sold it. The new owner isn't so picky.
